Lydia Gray-Holifield has been a member of the Parent Accountability Council since it began 5 years ago. She was recently chosen to represent a parent perspective on a national stage through Early Childhood Learning and Innovation Network for Communities’ (EC-LINC) Parent Leadership Network.
The Parent Leadership Network seeks to:
· Strengthen parents’ leadership and expertise in priority action areas: equity, early childhood systems and parent engagement
· Increase access for peer-to-peer education, support and leadership opportunities, and
· Achieve community and systems changes through parent-led projects.
As a member of the PLN, Lydia will gather feedback from parents in Multnomah County and represent them in the national network. She will also help the Network make strategy decisions and increase the focus on early learning across the nation.
Lai-Lani Ovalles, Early Learning Multnomah’s Senior Manager wrote, “Lydia will be able to bring a depth of experience as a PAC leader who serves with other parents from communities of color. She has over 15 years of experience in using her voice and sharing her knowledge to improve early learning systems in the community. Because of her efforts, Lydia has been able to affect policy and systems change.”
Congrats Ms. Lydia!
